This Is Your Moment EP

The Story Changes

The Story Changes are a two piece pop-punk outfit from Dayton, Ohio and have been wracking up the miles touring solidly since the release of their first album Last Night a Rock Band Saved My Life.

This was soon followed by The Way of the Dinosaur and 2009’s Analogies, a “shared” album with touring partners Let Go.The band have moved on however, their sound maturing and the tracks are stronger for it.

This Is Your Moment EP, which was released in the summer of this year, is a four track EP from I AM SHARK records and hears the band in top form! With influences taken from across the pop-punk spectrum, there is something here for everyone.

Frontman Mark McMillon’s vocals soar over melodies that lodge themselves into your brain for hours. This is showed best on opening track Tidal Wave which opens delicately before kicking off into a raucous rock track which would be more than welcome in playlists alongside the likes of Jimmy Eat World and New Found Glory.

Impressively, The Story Changes manage to make something which has been done hundreds of times before sound fresh and vibrant, which in an industry where it can be argued pop-punk has been done to death, is not something to be snorted at.

With a UK/EU tour in the pipelines for April 2012, this is a band you must see live. On the strength of This Is Your Moment EP, The Story Changes could be one of the best bands you have never heard of!
